BYOB Retreat Recap

Over the weekend, I got the chance to immerse myself in a pretty dope ass experience known as The BYOB Retreat! OMG, it was all that and a bag of chips! It twas indeed a gathering of diverse creators, makers and dream chasers all in one space, taking up space all while being unapologetically and authentically themselves: black AF! There was so much black girl magic and black boy joy all around! Oh, how I love us! Better yet, I STAN US!

In it’s second year, #BYOBretreat continues to bring together some of the countries most dynamic entrepreneurs, strategists, creatives, and minds for sessions around building your business, scaling your impact, managing your money, and learning to live your best life holistically. They connect the most talented & diverse brands in a culturally inclusive space to help you grow from startup to success. It’s more than an event. More than a conference. More than just feelings. It’s about leaving your old self behind & returning with new vision, new skills, and new connections for life.

Personally, I left feeling better than I came. While new connections were made, some older ones were rekindled & reunited! It legit felt like I was at a HBCU Homecoming! The melanin was in abundance and beyond plentiful throughout this entire weekend! The highlight of my time at BYOB was picking up gems provided by CiCi AKA The Six Figure Chick. She lead an amazing workshop focusing on Instagram Domination.

1. CLARITY:

Why are you on? More exposure? Leads? Sales? Can you summarize what you offer in one sentence? Who are you? What do you do? How do you do it? Why should I care?

2. BUILD A COMMUNITY:

Who do you want to attract? What makes it a community? How will you show up as a leader?

3. CREATE VALUABLE CONTENT:

What will you share on your platform? If you’re not standing out, your content will get lost!
