WHO’S UP NEXT?
Today, I am featuring Brittany Raji of Beauty Impact Accessories! Recently, I had the chance to interview Brittany and learn some new and exciting things about her. I want to thank her for taking the time to speak with me so that I could shine some light on all of her dopeness and share it with you all. I certainly look forward to continuing to curate, collaborate, create and celebrate with her in the future! You can shower her with your support by shopping her collections! Sit back, relax, pour a glass of wine and read about what she shared with me:
What do you want people to know about you and your business?
Beauty Impact Accessories is the Culture Plug for authentic accessories handmade in Africa. We are a fair trade social enterprise that started in 2015. We produce our line in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya. I’ve always had a love for culture and creativity and my business highlights that joy of blackness. I’m a high school dropout and first generation college graduate. I became and entrepreneur at the age of six. I love finding innovative ways to market business concepts in other words I’m a crazy sexy creative.
What drives you as a business owner?
I love what I do. It really doesn’t feel like work. I love designing pieces and marketing the most. I’m driven mostly by the thrill of meeting the demand. What makes this journey amazing for me is learning. I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks. I’ve taken two entrepreneurship courses in San Francisco. I feel like entrepreneurship is in my soul. Of course it feels good to make money on my own terms and spend time with family. This lifestyle is demanding yet rewarding.
What kind of legacy/footprint do you want to leave behind?
I would love people to be proud of our heritage and feel confident in their own skin. I believe that beautiful things that can impact the world. HINT the name of my business. I also love encouraging others to step out on faith launch their own businesses. We were made to create. The most valuable place in the world is the graveyard, because so many people take her dreams there. In 2017, I launched my marketing consulting business to help other entrepreneurs market what they have made. You can find more info brittanyraji.com or follow me on IG @asksocialgoddess!
What knowledge would you like to impart on other small business owners, both new & aspiring and old & experienced?
Be humble and learn something new everyday. Be honest about where you are and what you can do. Don’t keep up with the Jones’ they are broke. Being able to get back up after falling down is the key ingredient to being a successful entrepreneur. There’s this Silicon Valley quote that says, “If you want to be success go mess things up”. The faster you fail the faster you learn.
What does being a “boss babe” mean to you?
Boss Babe means to be crazy sexy creative. Being a boss is more than telling people what to do but the being leader at all times. I believe that bosses are natural born leaders and can manage multiple things successful. I believe every babe can define their own style of being a boss.
If you had to pick a phrase to serve as your words of affirmation, what would it be?
Impactful business beauty.
Are there any other special gifts or talents that you have that you’d like to share?
I’m a serial entrepreneur and educator I specialize in working with at-risk youth and non traditional adult learners. I believe that we all have value and worth just as we are. Thank you for the opportunity.
